We are excited to share this spacious home with you and your family.
Jewel of the Pigeon is located in the Pigeon River Country State Forest, which offers a vast amount of land and water to explore. We have been fortunate to call this place our backyard and are thrilled to be able to share some of our favorite places with you!

Being located in the state forest has its advantages! Here are a few of the things you can do:
Hiking: There are trails for every type of hike (or snowshoe and cross country skier) from beginner to expert. Most trails are marked and range anywhere from less than a mile to over 80 miles long. Some trails are also designed as a loop to bring you back to the start. We provide maps at the house that you can take with you, or you can stop at the DNR headquarters and grab your own maps
Elk Viewing: Elk were reintroduced in the area in 1918. The Pigeon River Country State Forest is now home to one of the largest free roaming herds of elk east of the Mississippi. The DNR plant fields of rye, alfalfa, clover and buckwheat to attract the elk to certain fields. You can find these take-along maps in the welcome folder.
Rivers and Lakes: With multiple bodies of water just a short drive from the house you will be able to swim, kayak, canoe, or fish. The lakes and rivers are home to Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout, bass and many species of pan fish. Please take note that some lakes are catch and release only. Information about fishing can be found in the welcome folder.
